racism hw carristian

I found this article on the huffington post. A man named Kevin Jackson posted on his website an essay or spech from a politician named Wurzlbacher and he wasfound saying that wanting a white republican president doesnt make you racist but american. Jackson said that electing a black president was supposed to ease racial tension and let the legislature focus on real isdue. He claims none of that has happned and things would be a lot easier if we had a white republican president. When he was running for office in 2012 he said we should put a fence on the border and shoot all the mexicans.
My reflection on this is that this is the 21st century and people ate still behaving like segregated schools were just put into place. It makes it seem like America has had no progress at all.

1. Is having a black president any different from having a white one?
2. Why does this country not want to progress?

  1. No having a black president is just as good as having a white one because they are both humans. I think they do but the country will not until we learn to work together

  2. Having a black president is the same as having a white president. We elected him to be president because we think that he was the right person for office at the time. Every president has their time when certain people question their way of thinking or decisions made but that's what you have to deal with. Its not that this country doesn't want to progress but it's just that they think we're moving back because of having a black president. In their perspective, they see that progressing is only possible or easier if we had a white president.

  3. I agree with the previous comments. Having a black president is the same as having a white president because it doesn't matter what race you come from, what matters is the education you have that makes you a great leader. The country is capable of progressing, but it all depends on us.
