The Right to Drive - Tiwa Eisape

There is a petition in Saudi arabia to allow women to drive. Saudi arabia is the only country that restricts women from operating a vehicle. Many women have been protesting this by openly driving. This protest is very dangerous for the women taking part; they can be charged with disturbing the piece and sedition. Women do not see this as breaking the law because there is no official legislation prohibiting women from driving, but they cannot obtain a license. This movement has no leader which is one of its strengths; authorities have no one person to target. This issue is now being brought up in court by female attorneys results are yet to come. 

I think the fact that women cannot drive in there own country is ludacris mainly because there is NO legitimate reasoning. If men do not have to deal with the struggle that being immobile puts on women than neither should women. I see this as an arbitrary way to put women on a lower level than men honestly it could have been anything as long as it divides the two genders laterally. If someone came to your house and took your cars keys you might feel robbed, just like these saudi women. What would you do would you step back and submit to the sexiest regime, or risk saudi prison and or court.
