Sexism
Article
My
article is about the amount of sexism that happens within our sports culture.
This article starts off with an incident that happened to a female she was a
write for the Philadelphia inquirer. This was her first year covering the 76ers
and after a game she walked in the locker room, she knew that one of the teams
best players already had a habit of doing interview right after he got out of
the showers and he would usually do it with a towel tied around his waist. Her thinking that he probably wanted to get
his interview done with quickly she walked over to him and he said “ You like
walking up to half-naked men?” with a smile. She didn’t know what to say she
was in such shock that she left the locker room she thought to herself should
she apologize and as she looked at her notepad it was empty and she asked her
self “Can I do this job?” When she walked back in the locker room she saw him
talking to writers all of them men but still in his towel.
After
reading this article and going over it carefully it made me think how hard
women have it. This article clearly shows how men clearly think less of women.
As the player for the 76ers said that what was running though his head yeah she
a woman but you have to show her respect. Clearly after talking to male writers
after that incident it shows sexism. The way that this makes me feel is that
men should show more respect towards women. I also feel that the women should
have never thought of apologizing to him she was just trying to do her job like
the rest of the writers in the locker room. Men feel that they are superior to
women but that’s not true women could do almost anything men could do and this
should show that they are legible to do any job a man could do without being
thought of as a regular person trying to do their job.

I believe that she was kind of nervous going in there even though she knew what she was getting into. I do think that the player should have also know. better but not entirely, the article said he does do it after every game. I'm kind of split on this one.
ReplyDeleteWhen talking about sports in the United States somewhere in this conversation you will come across a word called " male privilege . Most sports are designed or are played mostly by man .For example football, basketball, wresting and other sports that are not played by woe men women. Personally I think sports should be designed for men and women so both sexes can have opportunities in life.
