Article
This
week my article is about a college student named Klah Zabel and how she came
out to the public about being lesbian by posting a banner on her Facebook page
saying “Out...Proud…Lesbian”. Apparently the college that she attended did not
take it as though she thought they would, Klah claim that the dean of students
named Brian Cole threatened to expel her if she did not take that picture down.
In her college student handbook it says that the college holds that sexual
relationships are designed by God and expressed within marriage between a
husband and wife. The funny thing here is that she didn’t break any rule.
Another very important point in the handbook is that it states “Students are
expected to refrain from any discriminatory behavior, verbal or physical, they
stigmatizes or victimizes individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity,
religion, gender, or sexual orientation.” But the real point here is that this
rule only applies strictly to students it never says anything about the faculty
at the school. This gives them the freedom to do ar say anything they want.
What
I retained from this article is that I find this kind of funny. Not saying that
this is not wrong but just basically stupid. I feel that they should honestly
change the rule that’s in the student handbook at Rochester College. The reason
that I find this article funny is because the student handbook states that
teachers don’t apply to the rule of discriminatory behavior. Why restrict the students
but not the teachers its just dumb. I also feel bad for the girl because if I
were in her position I know it would definitely take a lot of courage to open
up and when you finally do you just get laughed at in your face. That’s just
wrong people need to be more considerate, they should climb up in others shoes
and see if they would like it.

This is a very interesting article because if someone is gay or a lesbian that don't have to have sex. Even as a Christian you can't tell someone who they can be attracted to. If people want to be religious the bible teaches us how to love everyone in spite of someone's short coming in life. If the college student is a lesbian that's her business.
